I’ll get right to it. Queen Majesty Red Habanero & Black Coffee Hot Sauce is one of the best-tasting sauces I’ve had in years. With it’s unique flavour profile and pleasant heat-level for a habanero sauce, there’s no other product on the market today that is quite like it. I find that this is one of the most accessible habanero-based sauces one can find, given that it has a rather mild kick and very pleasant taste. It has been consistently rated as 5 stars by our users on our website, with many people praising it as their favourite hot sauce. I’ve had many of my friends try this sauce and almost each time many of them picked this one as the most memorable and overall best-tasting one! Queen Majesty has completely perfected the art of balancing out different complementary ingredients, ensuring that one doesn’t overpower the other, or the overall flavour. It’s tangy and earthy, with a hint of sweetness.
The fair-trade coffee-infused white vinegar makes for a tangy-earthy coffee flavour that I love, while the red bell peppers and onions add a fresh and subtle sweetness. Red habaneros add the mild burn, with their notably citrusy-smoky taste. Though the flavour of the chiles is still noticeable, they offer a heat which is mellowed significantly by the other ingredients. Apple cider vinegar with mother adds a tangy quality, which blends in naturally with the other vinegars in the sauce. The “mother,” in case you weren’t aware, is the bacterial culture that holds much of the health benefits. Balsamic vinegar, which is rarely found in hot sauces, adds an enjoyable sweet-tart quality. The garlic flavour is not very pronounced, but its zing is still mildly present. The olive oil healthily binds all the liquids of this sauce together with its consistency and fruity taste. Ginger root adds a noticeably warm, spicy bite that works amazingly with the earthiness of the coffee and sweetness of the balsamic. Salt and spices ensure that it is seasoned to perfection.
In terms of heat, I would give this sauce a 3 out of 10. For a habanero sauce it’s very mild, making it possible to be enjoyed by almost anyone. Most will experience the heat of this sauce as a tingle or warm, lingering heat. If used in larger amounts it could offer a surprise kick to those who never use habanero sauces. I would recommend this one to those who seem intrigued by the combination of ingredients. The heat of this sauce, if used modestly, should not be too strong for anyone who has even a slight interest in hot sauces. To my hardcore chile heads out there, you need to try this one out too! Don’t expect very much heat but expect LOTS of flavour.
I’ve enjoyed this sauce in tacos, burritos, and all kinds of sandwiches. It’s delicious when mixed with mayo or a garlic aioli and works magic when topping off nachos, grilled beef or chicken, pork chops, stir fries, soups, and ramen! You can even make an amazing vinaigrette with this sauce! Mix a few teaspoons of it with some olive oil and lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. Add it to all your favourite salads for an extra flavourful kick!
