Dirty Dick’s Hot Pepper Sauce is simply delicious. It’s bold, sweet, and spicy enough to leave most with an enjoyable burn. As a fresh-tasting blend of habanero peppers, tropical fruits, and freshly-ground international spices, it packs a decent punch! Our customers, including myself, can’t get enough of it! That’s why it comes as no surprise to me that it was featured for multiple seasons on the show Hot Ones, led by the great personality Sean Evans on First We Feast’s YouTube channel. You can find all our products that have been, or are currently featured, on the Hot Ones show by clicking on our “Hot Ones” tab at the top of our website.

This sauce is quite unique for the way all the ingredients blend in to make such a full-bodied product! The habanero peppers are the only sources of heat in this sauce. Their smoky-citrusy flavour work perfectly as a contrast, but also a complement to the other ingredients. The vinegar provides a light pungency and tang as it always does while the tomatoes add not only a bit of sweetness but some acidity to complement the vinegar and fruits. The sultanas, also known as Thompson Seedless raisins, along with the bananas provide that tropical fruit taste. The brown sugar also adds some sweetness, which complements the heat and taste of the habanero peppers. The onions and garlic add a very sublte zing which, along with the spices, add a deeper, bold quality to the sauce. In terms of heat I give this sauce a 4 out of 10. For most, it will have a medium-hot burn which does not last all too long, while the robust flavour is more long-lasting.

Dirty Dick’s is deliciously versatile in flavour in that you can add it to all kinds of veggies, meats, and fish for a bold, tropical, and sweet kick!  This sauce works great in seafood dishes. I’ve added it to sautéed shrimp, scallops, and even glazed it on salmon and trout. Try it in potato salad, grilled cheese, tacos, soups, ceviche, on wings, grilled chicken thighs, grilled veggies like zucchini, and even stews! This sauce is also great as a dip for spring rolls, egg rolls, dumplings, French fries and more! I highly recommend this sauce if you love a bold sauce with tropical fruity notes and a decent kick!
