Queen Majesty Scotch Bonnet and Ginger Hot Sauce

Queen Majesty Scotch Bonnet and Ginger Hot Sauce

This sauce has a nice thick texture as well as the classic Caribbean vibe many of us love. It’s got a fresh flavour profile which is zingy, sweet, and citrusy, with a medium bite. White vinegar preserves the sauce while adding a bit of tang while the sweet onions add a bit of sweetness but also a thicker consistency.

The Scotch Bonnet and Ginger Hot Sauce has a nice thick texture as well as the classic Caribbean vibe many of us love. It’s got a fresh flavour profile which is zingy, sweet, and citrusy, with a medium bite. White vinegar preserves the sauce while adding a bit of tang while the sweet onions add a bit of sweetness but also a thicker consistency. Orange bell peppers fulfill the same purpose as the onions, while also adding some colour. Scotch bonnet hot peppers are the only pepper in the mix. Their hot and sweet flavour is a perfect choice for this Caribbean-style sauce. Lime juice adds some citrusy tang to complement the taste of the peppers and the other ingredients. The ginger root taste is very much present but is not too overpowering. In fact, upon tasting the sauce, you’ll notice its spicy, zingy quality just as much as the other ingredients. The garlic flavour comes out a little less than the ginger, but it is still noticeable. This combination is one of my favourite combinations in hot sauces. It simply makes for so much fresh taste! Olive oil binds the sauce together while the salt and spices ensure that it’s a well-seasoned product!

In terms of heat, I would give this one a 3 out of 10. It’s a tad milder than most scotch bonnet-based hot sauces I’ve had. The other fresh ingredients help to bring down the heat a bit. I would still highly recommend this sauce to hardcore chile heads like myself, those who like a medium-heat, or those who want to slowly build their tolerance from milder sauces towards medium-hot ones.

It’s clear to me that this sauce was created with culinary intentions in mind. It was really made for stir-fries, soups, noodle and rice dishes, marinades, mayo dips, and more! Any meal that you are preparing which could use an extra flavourful, tropical kick could benefit from this sauce. It can be put to good use in preparing a meat or fish marinade if you want your meal to pack a flavourful, exotic-tasting punch. Use it as a dipping sauce for fries, pizza, veggies, and It also works great with tacos, grilled vegetables, burritos, sandwiches, and so much more!
