Tabanero Hot Sauce

April 30, 2019

Tabanero is a classic, gourmet sauce we have here at Chilly Chiles. It’s easily one of our best sellers. Part of the reason for this is because of its amazingly versatile, fresh flavour. It’s also a big hit, I believe, because it is rather mild for a habanero-based sauce. This makes it an enjoyable product for pretty much anyone who at least enjoys lower heat-level hot sauces! Our customers always keep coming back for more! A lot of them love the fact that it’s not too salty, and that there is no vinegar. The sauce makers use key lime juice instead to complement the flavour of the peppers and to not overpower the other elements in the sauce! Check our customer reviews section on our website to find out why this is such a highly-praised product!

This blend of natural ingredients makes for a tangy, zesty, citrusy, and lightly sweet flavour profile. I can imagine myself enjoying this one in a multitude of ways due to the way it not only complements but also enhances the flavour of all your foods! Select habanero peppers bring floral, citrusy flavour and a level of heat that should be tolerable to most. Carrots and onions add some sweetness and help give the sauce a classic Mexican/Caribbean flavour that many of us love. Key lime juice helps to not only preserve the sauce, but also brings a refreshing citrusy tang. Key limes are actually different from the run-of-the-mill grocery store limes. They have a higher acidity, stronger aroma, and yes, they are famous for being used in key lime pie! Agave nectar adds a touch of sweetness; there’s just enough that it balances out the acidity and heat, while not being so sweet that I want to douse my ice cream with it! The garlic taste is pretty subtle, while the salt makes for a product that is perfectly seasoned! No blandness to be found!

In terms of heat I would give this one a 3 out 10. I find it rather mild for a habanero-based hot sauce. What’s great about it then is that it is highly accessible. Even those who are only into mild sauces and peppers can get into Tabanero because of its lower heat level, as well as its versatile, pleasant flavour! This makes for an amazing quality product which pretty much never overpowers any dish! If you’ve never tried this sauce before, I’d recommend it to you whether you’re a beginner or hardcore chile head. If you’re a heat-seeker like me and want a solid habanero burn, you won’t find it in this one. What you will find though is a very pleasant-tasting product that your friends and family will surely enjoy!

Tabanero can be used in so many ways. It’s great with eggs, burgers, burritos, tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, pizza, in chilis, sandwiches, and poutine.  Add this sauce to a chicken, beef, pork, or seafood marinade. Each time I get my friends to try this hot sauce they instantly fall in love with it. I always keep a bottle of it in my fridge because it’s just so dang good. New customers also tend to be curious about this one because of its intriguing name and bottle shape!

Come by one of our store locations and give Tabanero a try!

As always, Keep it spicy!

Alexis

Great Flavour

Ordered this originally from Heatonist in the states but it quickly became one of my favourites. It has some of the best flavour I've experienced in a hot sauce without being too hot overall, but it offers a nice kick. Used it on everything from pizza, chicken, steak, veggies, rice, fish, and more.

High River Sauces Tears of the Sun Hot Sauce

Quebec sauce

Great tasty sauce to use with seafood skewers like shrimp. Mild heat so you can eat lots of it but still has a little kick to it. Nothing about burning your mouth though.

The sauce of summer

I love this sauce so much. Wonderful taste.
