Satan’s Ghost Hot Sauce

December 04, 2018

Satan’s Ghost Hot Sauce has been very popular here at Chilly Chiles for years now. It comes as no surprise to me given that its deep, bold, smoky, and tangy flavour has had me hooked since day one! It’s among my favourite ghost pepper sauces on the market today because of the way the ingredients pair so well with the blistering heat of the ghost pepper and smokiness of the fire-roasted habaneros. I find that smoky hot sauces with strong flavours are not always easy to come by, especially ones that pack a pretty strong punch. I would recommend this one to anyone who loves ghost pepper-based hot sauces and savoury, smoky notes.

Fire-roasted habanero peppers add a moderate smoky heat which is at the center of this sauce’s flavour profile. Red wine vinegar adds a distinctive tang that sets this sauce apart from other smoky hot sauces of this kind. It’s one of the more underused types of vinegars which I find adds the most full-bodied sourness. Water makes for a more liquid consistency and that the acidity level of the sauce is not too overwhelming, and the salt ensures that it’s seasoned to perfection. Having enough seasoning and saltiness in a sauce is a crucial element to consider! The ghost peppers, one of the hottest peppers in the world, add a slow-building, sweet-earthy burn. The heat creeps up on you… just like a ghost! Xanthan gum, a thickening agent found in many hot sauces, allows it to reach the desired consistency. I must say Satan’s Ghost also has a very smooth and rich texture. I love all kinds of textures when it comes to hot sauce, and this one is just right!

In terms of heat, I would give it a 7 out of 10. It’s got the perfect level of heat one would expect from a ghost pepper-based hot sauce, with an incredibly strong and well-balanced flavour. I would recommend it to anyone who loves ghost pepper sauces, or superhot sauces in general. As its intimidating name and label would suggest, it’s not one for beginners. Those who can handle habanero-level heat should absolutely give this one a try if they want to kick things up a decent notch. It’s the only sauce of its kind and also makes a great gift for many hot sauce-lovers out there!

As much as this product has a strong flavour and burn, it’s actually more versatile than you may think! Add modest amounts Satan’s Ghost to your BBQ marinades for grilled chicken, ribs, pork tenderloin, lamb, braised beef dishes, and more. A couple of drops on your tacos, grilled eggplant, oven-roasted potatoes, seafood dishes, in your sandwiches, quinoa bowls, and burritos goes a long way! It’s perfect when mixed with mayo, sour cream, or cream cheese! These zesty dips are perfect for your veggies, fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and crackers! Make sure to use it in small amounts, especially when serving non-chile heads!

Don’t be too afraid… come by one of our store locations and have a taste of Satan’s Ghost!

As always, Keep it spicy!

Alexis

Secret Aardvark Drunken Jerk Marinade

May 13, 2019

The Drunken Jerk Marinade is savoury, intense, spiced, and salty. This intensity is mainly due to the fact that its main use is that of a marinade, and thus has a high concentration of flavour. Therefore, it’s not necessarily the kind of sauce you would douse on any dish.

Tabanero Hot Sauce

April 30, 2019

Part of the reason for this is because of its amazingly versatile, fresh flavour. It’s also a big hit, I believe, because it is rather mild for a habanero-based sauce. This makes it an enjoyable product for pretty much anyone who at least enjoys lower heat-level hot sauces!

Slightly warm

No doubt about it this stuff is hot which is surprising, considering I eat the last dab redux on a daily basis. Same with hellfire fear this, I feel that da bomb final answer is way hotter than both of those. But it tastes disgusting.

Los Calientes

It's the most pleasureful pain I've ever experienced. And I'll do it over and over.

Nice Salsa

Don't buy any, save it all for me!

Still the best

I was there at the old Red Fox liars table when you first introduced this stuff , I am 74 now and still think it is the best in North America, had a feed tonight for supper with my Keith's and wings thanks for the best sauce around and thanks for all the great memories at the Fox

Taste is good, but no heat

Great flavor but I'd rate the heat more like a 2/10
