Maritime Madness Ultimate Giv’er Hot Sauce

April 09, 2019

Maritime Madness is a company from Prince Edward Island which offers a variety of gourmet spicy products. They also grow their own hot peppers for their sauces. We carry many Maritime Madness products including plenty of hot sauces as well as a hot honey, bacon brittle, ghost pepper brittle, and a zesty seafood sauce! Ultimate Giv’er is the only product from Maritime Madness I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying thus far, but given how good this one was, I am definitely looking forward to trying some of their other products in the future! Feel free to browse what we offer of theirs on our website and come try out some samples at our stores!

Ultimate Giv’er is not only a HOT one, but is also vegan-friendly, soy free, gluten free, and delicious. It’s a sauce that all serious chile heads should try out for its scorching, fresh heat. It’s actually the hottest sauce in their lineup! This one has much of the flavour coming from the pepper mashes mixed with a zingy taste from the fresh garlic. Water maintains the liquid consistency of the sauce and also ensures the balance of all the ingredients. The vinegar not only preserves the sauce but also offers a light tang that we come to expect from most hot sauces. The pungency of the vinegar is rather subtle, so it does not overpower the taste of the peppers, which is always good! Habanero peppers bring some smoky-citrusy heat while the earthy ghost peppers and fruity-tasting Carolina Reaper peppers add some blistering spice. This is a pretty deadly combination, making for a multi-layered yet very enjoyable pepper flavour. Fresh garlic adds a rather present zingy taste with the salt making it a well-seasoned product. The final ingredient is xanthan gum, a thickening agent found in numerous hot sauces on the market.

In terms of heat, I would give this one a solid 8 out of 10. It’s not quite in my top 10 hottest extract-free sauces ever, but it’s still hot enough that I would only recommend it to serious chile heads. If you don’t have that great of a tolerance for spicy food but are really looking for something to add one drop of at a time to your dishes, then by all means Ultimate Giv’er is a great place to start! Anyone looking for a good, flavourful burn should pick this one up!

Add small amounts of Ultimate Giv’er to all kinds of dishes. I urge you to use it very modestly, adding only a couple of drops or even a teaspoon (if you’re brave enough) in your marinades, wing sauces, dips, salsas, noodles, rice dishes, and more. Add a little to your mayo, hummus, sour cream dips, ranch dressing, and even ketchup for a sweet and fiery heat! Try a bit on the side of your plate along with no matter what you’re eating and see how its flavour can blend nicely! If you go overboard with how much you put on your food, it’s surely going to have you saying: HOLY FRIG THAT’S HOT!

Come by one of our store locations and give Maritime Madness Ultimate Giv’er Hot Sauce a try!

As always, Stay on the spicy side of life!

Bee Sting Mango Passion Hot Sauce

February 19, 2020

When you think of a bee sting, you probably think of excruciating pain and the need for medical attention. Well get that thought out of your mind for this sauce as it will definitely not sting you much at all! It will, however, provide you with some fresh tropical flavours.

CaJohns Hydra Hot Sauce

February 11, 2020

CaJohns Hydra Hot Sauce is definitely a force to be reckoned with! Made with 7-Pot Primo chilies, it’s got a fresh heat that you’d expect to get from this brand. Hydra is in fact a very pepper-forward sauce, meaning that much of the flavour comes from the main pepper itself.

Heartbreaking Dawns Cauterizer

Dawson Original Hot Sauce

Smells good. Tastes good. Hot as hell. But manageable.

The toe was damn hot!!!

The toe of satan is friggin so hot. It's one thing to eat something hot and swallow it. The toe is 9 million scolville but you are sucking on it. Need I say more!!! Picture was for fun but that was about 20 mins after!!

Perfect if you like strong vinegar-y sauces.

So my partner loves this sauce, but she loves kimchi and all things vinegar/acid-y. So I'm giving this 4 stars based on her opinion.

The normal Hellfire Detroit is one of my favorite sauces of all time for reference; however Bourbon Habanero Ghost is too tart/acidy for my taste, its also considerably hotter (which is welcome for some but a difference to note), I'd say 40% hotter than normal hellfire.

Good flavour with lingering heat

This is a pretty darn hot sauce, but the underlying flavour is still noticeable. This is a good one to have in your collection for those liking a strong kick now and then.

So good!

Bought this set as a gift for my brother who collects hot sauce and he liked it a lot. The Chicago one works well with guacamole! While the Adobo loco packs a punch. 10/10 would purchase and try other stuff again! Also the packaging is great and it arrived in perfect condition.
