Hellfire Devil’s Gold Hot Sauce

May 23, 2018

Devils Gold Hot sauceDevil’s Gold by Hellfire is an award-winning fruit-based hot sauce. Hellfire, which makes all-natural artisan hot sauces, never ceases to amaze me with their products! I highly recommend you check out their sauces we carry here at Chilly Chiles if you’re interested in discovering new gourmet sauces that are very hot, but pack tons of flavour! This sauce has a sweet and tropical aroma, with a hint of cinnamon and a light fruity/citrusy fragrance from the peppers. This is a fresh-tasting sauce that really is like liquid gold! When tasting, it begins with a delicious fruity flavour, followed by sweetness with a touch of cinnamon, and then a big wave of heat!

It combines the four hottest yellow superhot chiles: 7 Pot, Bhut Jolokia, Scorpion, and Fatalii. These chiles have fruity, citrusy flavours which marry perfectly with the fruits: pineapple, pears, and papaya. The sugar and honey provide an added sweetness to bind the chiles and fruits together, while the vinegar plays its part perfectly in regulating the acidity of the sauce. The garlic zing in this sauce is very subtle, and lemon juice adds more fresh citrus flavour to complement the flavours of the chiles and fruits. The cinnamon taste is quite noticeable and, in my opinion, completes this sauce. The notes of cinnamon accentuate the flavours of the fruits and makes for a very pleasant aftertaste.

In terms of heat, I would give this sauce a solid 7 out of 10. Given the types of superhot chiles in the sauce it would have the potential of being even hotter, however, it’s the sweetness from the honey, sugar, and fruits that bring the heat of this sauce down a notch. Devil’s Gold has a perfect combination of ingredients going on because its sweetness allows for an appreciation of the flavours of the yellow chiles. Even if you are a beginner chile head and are interested in fruit-based hot sauces but don’t have a high tolerance for heat, I would still highly recommend you give this sauce a try. It has a flavour profile that is so unique and is absolutely worth considering!

This sauce is amazing on tacos, shrimp, chicken, pork, salmon, pizza, stir fries, burgers, tofu, and more! Glaze it on grilled or sautéed veggies too for some sweet and savoury heat! It also makes for a delicious spicy dip for egg rolls, spring rolls, mozzarella sticks and more! Believe it or not, this sauce also pairs well with ice cream! Why not add an extra jolt of heat and exotic fruits to your desserts with Devil’s Gold? This product has the fresh, fragrant sweetness and tantalizing heat that may make you rethink how you enjoy hot sauce on your food!

Come by one of our store locations and give Hellfire Devil’s Gold a try!

As always, Keep it spicy!

Bee Sting Mango Passion Hot Sauce

February 19, 2020

When you think of a bee sting, you probably think of excruciating pain and the need for medical attention. Well get that thought out of your mind for this sauce as it will definitely not sting you much at all! It will, however, provide you with some fresh tropical flavours.

CaJohns Hydra Hot Sauce

February 11, 2020

CaJohns Hydra Hot Sauce is definitely a force to be reckoned with! Made with 7-Pot Primo chilies, it’s got a fresh heat that you’d expect to get from this brand. Hydra is in fact a very pepper-forward sauce, meaning that much of the flavour comes from the main pepper itself.

Heartbreaking Dawns Cauterizer

February 04, 2020

The flavour profile of Cauterizer is fruity, tangy, sweet, and savoury. Trinidad Scorpion peppers bring a solid, blazing heat and fruity flavour, with the cider vinegar preserving the sauce while adding some sour notes. Apricot preserves, blueberries, and honey...

Perfect if you like strong vinegar-y sauces.

So my partner loves this sauce, but she loves kimchi and all things vinegar/acid-y. So I'm giving this 4 stars based on her opinion.

The normal Hellfire Detroit is one of my favorite sauces of all time for reference; however Bourbon Habanero Ghost is too tart/acidy for my taste, its also considerably hotter (which is welcome for some but a difference to note), I'd say 40% hotter than normal hellfire.

Good flavour with lingering heat

This is a pretty darn hot sauce, but the underlying flavour is still noticeable. This is a good one to have in your collection for those liking a strong kick now and then.

So good!

Bought this set as a gift for my brother who collects hot sauce and he liked it a lot. The Chicago one works well with guacamole! While the Adobo loco packs a punch. 10/10 would purchase and try other stuff again! Also the packaging is great and it arrived in perfect condition.

Great first purchase!

Grabbed a four bottles to try out the service. Excellent service. Everything arrived, safely packed and in time for Christmas (Truff was pre-owned). Will definitely buy again.

Delicious

Definitely not over hyped. One of the best sauces I've had yet.
