Heated Discussions Intro

May 29, 2017 1 Comment

My name is Alexis and I’m a hot sauce/spicy food enthusiast who’s been happily ordering a constant supply of products from Chilly Chiles for many years now. I’m passionate about trying every new hot sauce I encounter and also love to cook and discover new dishes, preferably with heat! I’ve been a heat seeker for quite some time, so I can say that I’ve had my fair share of spicy! I’m also quite present in the hot sauce community, both on-and off-line, through my Instagram account @hotsaucebae and on Facebook, where I engage with a number of different hot sauce makers from Canada and the U.S.

During this past Christmas season I worked at the Chilly Chiles Bayshore Shopping Centre location and it was an amazing opportunity to get to know and work with all the staff! I thoroughly enjoyed assisting customers by suggesting products to suit their level of heat enjoyment. All three of our store locations have a wealth of sample bottles for people to try from! One of my goals in this blog is to encourage you to not only discover our online offerings, but also to come see us in person to taste for yourself that we’ve got some of the best hot sauces, marinades, BBQ sauces, and spicy snacks out there!

As the name suggests, this blog will be a platform for “heated discussions” for all things heat and spice! Here I’ll be sharing lots of interesting facts about hot sauces and my culinary experiences with all of the great products available at Chilly Chiles. Some other things you can expect to find here are: information on featured products from both Canada and around the world, hot sauce reviews, a discussion of the health benefits of hot sauces and spicy foods in general, suggestions for different dishes using the hot sauces that we carry, including recipes that are super quick to prepare yet deliver on bold and instant heat, and much more!

I hope you enjoy browsing through our site and checking out all our great products!

Until next time, keep it spicy!

Alexis

Secret Aardvark Drunken Jerk Marinade

May 13, 2019

The Drunken Jerk Marinade is savoury, intense, spiced, and salty. This intensity is mainly due to the fact that its main use is that of a marinade, and thus has a high concentration of flavour. Therefore, it’s not necessarily the kind of sauce you would douse on any dish.

Pain is Good Gochujang Hot Sauce

May 07, 2019

This Korean-inspired hot sauce by Spicin’ Foods is a unique product that is also highly addictive! Gochujang is a classic element of Korean cuisine. It is typically served alongside a variety of dishes such as ramen, tempura shrimp or veggies, fried chicken, and more.

Tabanero Hot Sauce

April 30, 2019

Part of the reason for this is because of its amazingly versatile, fresh flavour. It’s also a big hit, I believe, because it is rather mild for a habanero-based sauce. This makes it an enjoyable product for pretty much anyone who at least enjoys lower heat-level hot sauces!

Slightly warm

No doubt about it this stuff is hot which is surprising, considering I eat the last dab redux on a daily basis. Same with hellfire fear this, I feel that da bomb final answer is way hotter than both of those. But it tastes disgusting.

Los Calientes

It's the most pleasureful pain I've ever experienced. And I'll do it over and over.

Nice Salsa

Don't buy any, save it all for me!

Still the best

I was there at the old Red Fox liars table when you first introduced this stuff , I am 74 now and still think it is the best in North America, had a feed tonight for supper with my Keith's and wings thanks for the best sauce around and thanks for all the great memories at the Fox

Taste is good, but no heat

Great flavor but I'd rate the heat more like a 2/10
